Manchester United suffered a 3-4 defeat against FC Copenhagen in the fourth leg of their UEFA Champions League Group A match of the 2023/24 season at Farken Stadium in the Danish city of Ovedstadenlegion Copenhagen on Monday (September 9).
The Red Devils scored twice on the day, but Marcus Rashford’s sending off left them a man down. Both teams scored a combined seven goals in the loss.
That same day, according to British media outlet TNT Sports, Van Gaal said, “Can I have an hour (to say enough)? I think the players played very well until (Marcus Rashford’s) red card. The red card changed everything, after that it was a completely different game.”레모나토토 도메인
“It wasn’t just today’s game. We’ve had to deal with decisions against us in other games as well. But the season is long and one day it will turn in our favor.”
On Rashford’s sending off, he added: “It’s a harsh decision. Rashford was going for the ball. After the review, the referee went to look at the monitor. I don’t think he was convinced (about the sending off) himself.”
“Our two goals should not have been disallowed. The first one (Elias Achoury’s obstruction) was offside. He was right in front of goalkeeper Andre Onana. The second (conceding a penalty), what can you do about that?” he said.
“I saw a lot of positives, but in the end we lost concentration. It’s hard when you play that long with 10 men. We fought hard and played well. But we couldn’t get the points. It’s very disappointing.”
