By Lee Jae-eun (Reporter) = The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on Friday that it has agreed to form an integrated consultation group with the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and LG and Doosan regarding a replacement stadium for Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, construction of the new Jamsil dome will begin in earnest after the 2025 baseball season ends. Construction will begin after the current Jamsil Baseball Stadium is dismantled. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2031.

The problem is that the LG Twins and Doosan Bears, who call Jamsil Baseball Stadium home, will have to find a temporary home during the six years that the new dome is under construction.캡틴토토

The two teams have asked the city to remodel the Jamsil main stadium and use it as a replacement.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it is in advanced talks with LG and Doosan to recommend experts in construction and safety, and will finalize the formation of the integration council as soon as the Chuseok holiday is over. The first integration meeting is expected to be held early next month.

A city official said, “The integration council will review the overall issues of building and operating an alternative stadium, such as citizen safety, pedestrian routes, and the phased construction plan for each facility in the Jamsil housing project.” “We will also explore the best alternatives for additional requests from LG and Doosan, including opinions from experts in each field.”
